Bulk Operations Guide
Bulk Operations
Bulk operations allow you to perform actions across multiple devices simultaneously, saving significant time when managing large client portfolios. You can target all devices for a specific client or across your entire portfolio.
Starting a Bulk Scan
- Navigate to Bulk Operations in your partner dashboard.
- Select the operation type: Quick Scan, Full Scan, or Custom Scan.
- Choose the scope: a specific client, multiple clients, or all clients.
- Click Start Bulk Scan. The operation will be queued and dispatched to all targeted devices.
Bulk Definition Updates
Keep all devices up to date with the latest virus definitions:
- Select Update Definitions from the operation type dropdown.
- Choose the target scope (specific client or all clients).
- Click Start Update. Each device agent will download and apply the latest definitions.
Bulk Patch Checks
Verify the patch status across your portfolio:
- Select Check Patches from the operation type dropdown.
- Choose the target scope.
- Click Start Patch Check. Each device will report its current OS and security patch status.
Job Tracking and Progress Monitoring
Once a bulk operation is started, you can monitor its progress in real time:
- Job Status — Each bulk operation is tracked as a job with statuses: Queued, In Progress, Completed, or Failed.
- Progress Bar — A visual indicator showing the percentage of devices that have completed the operation.
- Device-Level Results — Click on any job to see per-device results, including success/failure status and any error messages.
- Retry Failed — If some devices failed (e.g., they were offline), you can retry the operation for only the failed devices.
Best Practices
- Schedule bulk scans during off-peak hours to minimize impact on client workstations.
- Run definition updates before bulk scans to ensure the latest signatures are used.
- Use patch checks after operating system update cycles to verify compliance.
- Review bulk operation results within 24 hours and follow up on any failures.
