Email Alert Configuration

Stay informed about critical security events across your client portfolio with configurable email alerts. Alerts can be sent to your partner account email or a custom email address of your choice.

Alert Types

You can enable or disable each alert type independently:

  • Threat Detected — Triggered when a scan detects malware, adware, PUPs, rootkits, or other threats on any client device. Includes the device name, client name, threat type, and severity.
  • Device Offline — Triggered when a device has not checked in for longer than the configured offline threshold. Helps you identify devices that may have been disconnected or powered off.
  • Critical Patch Available — Triggered when a critical security patch is available for a client device that has not yet been applied. Includes patch details and the affected device.
  • Scan Failure — Triggered when a scheduled or on-demand scan fails to complete. Includes the device name, error details, and suggested remediation steps.

Offline Threshold Configuration

The offline device alert threshold determines how long a device must be unresponsive before an alert is sent. You can configure this value in your partner settings:

  • Default: 24 hours
  • Minimum: 1 hour
  • Maximum: 168 hours (7 days)

Set a shorter threshold for critical servers that should always be online, or a longer threshold for workstations that may be powered off on weekends.

Daily Digest Scheduling

In addition to real-time alerts, you can enable a daily digest email that summarizes all security events from the past 24 hours. The digest includes:

  • New threats detected (count and summary)
  • Devices that went offline
  • Pending critical patches
  • Failed scan operations
  • Overall portfolio protection score trend

The daily digest is sent at your preferred time (configurable in partner settings, default: 8:00 AM in your local timezone).

Custom Alert Email Address

By default, alerts are sent to the primary email address on your partner account. You can configure a custom email address for alerts:

  1. Go to Settings > Alerts in your partner dashboard.
  2. Enter your preferred alert email address (e.g., alerts@yourmsp.com).
  3. Click Save. A verification email will be sent to the new address.
  4. Click the verification link to confirm. All future alerts will be sent to the new address.
